[ Tigger ] This is where I will dump any RISC OS programs that you might like to download. The selection is limited, but growing all the time as I 'productise' stuff that I wrote for my own use.

Most of these programs use Acorn's Toolbox modules, which are now widely available on FTP sites. RISC OS 3.1 users will also need the ThreeTen support module; this is usually included in the Toolbox archive.

Important notice

Except where explicitly stated, these programs are all 26-bit/32-bit neutral and have been tested on both Iyonix and ARMini. These programs will run on earlier versions of RISC OS with no change (i.e. there is no need to install the 32-version of SharedCLibrary).

Desktop Utilities

BDRand.spk BDRand V3.32 (122K)
Yet another backdrop randomiser, but a bit more flexible than most. GIFs and JPEGs can be used as backdrops, and backdrops can be sorted into user-defined groups that can be enabled/disabled at will.
The archive includes a sample backdrop.

BDRand uses the toolbox modules, and the ThreeTen module if running under RISC OS 3.1

BDRandUpd.spk BDRandUpd V3.32 (79K)
An update of BDRand (3.17 or later) to the latest version. The existing configuration and any installed backdrops will survive the update.

BDRand uses the toolbox modules, and the ThreeTen module if running under RISC OS 3.1

Rename.spk Rename V3.25-1 (152K) [ Updated ]
Smart multiple file renamer, using !Edit-like wildcard matching techniques.

Rename uses the toolbox modules, and the ThreeTen module if running under RISC OS 3.1

mktable.spk MakeTable V0.34 (76K)
Text to HTML Table generator, including the ability to perform intelligent character to glyph conversion (e.g. '>' to '>', '"' to '"' etc). It will also read HTML files and generate TSV/CSV files from tables.

MakeTable uses the Acorn toolbox modules, and the ThreeTen module if running under RISC OS 3.1

SprUtils.spk SprUtils V1.12 (64K)
SprUtils provides a number of sprite file utilities
SprUtils uses the Acorn toolbox modules, and the ThreeTen module if running under RISC OS 3.1

Miscellaneous software

ASM.spk ASM V5.08 (84K)
ARM macro assembler, including a veneer for Acorn's FrontEnd module. ASM should run on RISC OS 3.1 or later. You will also need the documentation (last updated for V5.04); this is available in the following formats:

dtlha.spk DtLHARC V0.17 (66K)
Desktop front end for my port of the unix lharc archive/dearchive tool; lharc appears below.
DtLHARC requires that lharc V0.30 or later is present in the library directory of your computer.
DtLHARC needs the toolbox modules, and the ThreeTen module if running under RISC OS 3.1.

lharc.spk lharc V0.36 (51K)
This is a port of the Unix "lharc" archive/dearchive utility (the source of ".LZH" files). Although SparkFS will read such files, it will not write them. Other ports of lharc exist, but all of them I've come across are limited in some way. This port may be a bit "beta" but it seems to work for me.
This is a port of version 1.14 of lharc, which provides an additional compression method(-lh6-), as well as fixing a bug which would mean that some archives were unreadable.
lharc is a command line utility; however, immediately above you will find DtLHARC, which is a desktop front end (and generally much easier to use).

rex.spk rex V0.38 (26K)
RISC OS does not provide any way of performing a *Ex recursively (i.e. performing a *Ex, and then automatically applying it to any directories found). Rex provides this function.
