Making KiSS Dolls
There are a number of documents that are essential reading if you wish to create
your own dolls:
- KiSS General Specification
Whether or not you have tools to convert between file formats, KiSS/GS is still required
reading, as there is no tool available for creating and editing a configuration file that is
quite as flexible as a text editor.
- Dov Sherman's guide to creating KiSS dolls
The guide gives a step-by-step walkthough of building a doll. The tools referred to in this guide are
biased towards Windows, but the basic mechanisms are the same for all platforms.
- Chad Randall's FKiSS specification
This gives details of all the events and functions used by the French KiSS sound and animation extensions.
It includes the proposed FKiSS2 standard, as well as the more widely used FKiSS 1.
- My own FKISS reference
This provides a reference guide to all FKISS functions up to and including FKISS 4.
If you are a RISC OS user (if you aren't, why are you reading this page? go away!) you may find
MakeKISS,
KISSTools and lharc
useful tools.
